Only in Napa will you find a weekend festival that brings together world-class music, wine, food and education. That festival is the Staglin Family Vineyards’ Music Festival for Brain Health.

Co-hosts Shari and Garen Staglin and their children, Brandon and Shannon, along with Co-Chairman Patrick Kennedy, One Mind CEO Pete Chiarelli and the Board of Directors welcomed over 1500 supporters, scientists, and friends over the two-day festival to celebrate life and raise awareness of the causes and cures for physiological brain disorders.

The 20th Annual festival kicked off on September 13 with a scientific symposium, featuring keynote speaker Eric Lander, PhD, one of the principal leaders of the Human Genome Project and Founding Director of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and moderated by Steven Hyman, former Director of the U.S. National Institute of Mental Health.

Following the symposium, a tasting of some of the word’s most acclaimed wines took place in the Staglin Family Vineyard winery caves. Vintage Trouble then took the stage for a rousing dance concert followed by the post-concert VIP dinner featuring Chef Jan Birnbaum and an all-star cast of chefs who were all alumni from previous festivals.

Paddles raised high and fast during an impromptu fund-a-need auction that added $100,000 to the day’s total. Sunday’s festivities brought the ever-popular Food Truck Fest, followed by an acoustic set by Grammy® nominated singer Jewel at the historic Lincoln Theater in Yountville, Napa Valley. Jewel’s amazing talent and empathy for the cause delighted the crowd of over 1,000 supporters.

At the end a successful 20th year, Shari and Garen Staglin stated, “Today we celebrate a hugely successful weekend and total cumulative proceeds from our 20 years approaching $210 million, which is incredible.”
