RN74 has announced a new dinner series titled Sunday Feasts, where guests will have the opportunity to experience cuisine inspired by culinary regions of France.
RN74 Sunday Feasts will feature eight to 10 dishes for $45. The menu includes three appetizers to share – a salad, pâté or terrine and a cold fish dish, as well as a soup and main entrée, served family-style, along with side dishes for the table. A supplemental offering is also available for $10; examples include aboeuf bourguignon risotto, composed epoisses cheese plate or roasted foie gras for the table. The evening will end on a sweet note with a fruit tart and ice cream served family-style. As a complement, Lead Sommelier David Castleberry will select fitting wines from the chosen French region to accompany the evening’s menu. The wine selections will be sold by the carafe (500 ml) for $35.
The series, which began on Sunday, Nov. 8, takes inspiration from RN74’s namesake, the Burgundy region of France. Route Nationale 74 is the main highway that runs through the heart of Burgundian wine country, and in homage, the wine list at RN74 offers the best expressions of both red and white Burgundy as well as new world Pinot Noir and Chardonnay along with a selection of varietals from lesser-known wine regions of the world, all at an excellent value.
The regional inspiration for the series will change every two months, and will be executed by the restaurant’s new executive chef, Michael Lee Rafidi, who joined the restaurant this past summer. Following the Burgundian-inspired series, RN74 will feature cuisine from different French regions for upcoming Sunday Feasts such as Périgord, Normandy and Touraine.
RN74 San Francisco is located at 301 Mission Street at Beale, within the northeastern corner of Millennium Tower. For more information or to make reservations, patrons should call (415) 543.7474 or visit www.michaelmina.net.
