Gourmet foodies and wine aficionados, mark your calendars for March 16-19: Relais & Châteaux GourmetFest 2017, the largest gathering of Michelin-starred chefs in the U.S., is coming to Carmel-by-the-Sea.
This year’s GourmetFest will be the most star-studded yet, as more than 18 Relais & Châteaux chefs will descend on Carmel, California for 20 gastronomic events. Just a few of the superstar chefs in the lineup include Daniel Boulud, Michael Tusk and Nathan Rich.
Guests of the GourmetFest will have access to a range of dining and culinary experiences: A wild mushroom hunt; cooking demos in the state-of-the art Gaggenau Demo Kitchen; a 10-course rarities dinner feast, and once-in-a-lifetime wine tastings (from Chateaux Margaux and Bouchard Pere & Fils, to Domaine des Comte Lafon, Chappellet Winery, and Champagne Pommery), and more.
In addition to the four-day event, the festival’s online auction – benefiting the Carmel Chamber of Commerce, CSU Monterey Bay hospitality program, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Rancho Cielo, will feature visits to some of Relais & Châteaux’s most extraordinary properties.
GourmetFest was founded in 2014 by L’Auberge Carmel’s proprietor David Fink, original founder of the Masters of Food & Wine in 1987. Now in its fourth year, the Relais & Châteaux GourmetFest has become a tour de force in the food and wine festival circuit.
