Season 3 began on September 12, 2016, set with a star-studded lineup of guest chefs from around the country. New Orleans’ own Emeril Lagasse of Emerils, Alon Shaya of Shaya restaurant, Matt Accarrino of SPQR and David Kinch of three Michelin-starred restaurant Manresa were on the lineup, and the list goes on.
It was all Bay Area on the October 6th game day (against the Arizona Cardinals). Local flavor was on point when chefs took the theme, “THE MINA TEST KITCHEN: International Smoke Takeover”. Adam Mesnick of Deli Board and Ryan Farr of 4505 Meats brought hot links and chicharróns down to the stadium to use on the brand new smoker, which launched at the game. Star chef, Ayesha Curry, joined in on the tailgate action with a combination of dishes from her new cookbook, The Seasoned Life (officially released in October, 2016), which included her Brown Sugar Chicken from her mother’s kitchen.
While all of this fabulous food and drink was happening, pre-game action was in full effect. Members were able to view pregame and game-time action on the 70 HDTVs throughout Bourbon Steak and Bourbon Pub, while watching decadent dishes prepared in the open kitchen and on the two-story rotisserie.
And just one more cool touch – At kickoff, Michael Mina’s Tailgate members depart with Treats for Your Seats, featuring gourmet treats and snacks to munch on during the game. Post-game, they were granted preferred reservations for dinner at Bourbon Pub & Bourbon Steak. In addition, a personalized concierge was available to provide preferred reservations for all MINA Group restaurants.
While the 2016-2017 season has come to a close for our San Francisco 49ers, fans and foodies alike still have reason to stay close to Levi’s Stadium: Bourbon Steak and Borbon Pub are still in full swing (so worth the trip to Santa Clara in the off-season). And before you know it, next football season will arrive, which means Season 4 of the Mina Tailgate experience is back on with more fabulous food and chefs. Michael Mina Tailgate Experience at Levi’s® Stadium is a membership-only experience that only 49er season ticket holders have access into, and the annual membership is $3500, which includes all pre-season and regular season home games. Football fan or not, we can attest that Michael Mina’s Tailgate is worth every penny. To sum it up in two words: complete indulgence.
