Home Cuisine A FLASHBACK TO Season 3 of Michael Mina Tailgate Experience at Levi’s® ...

The Michael Mina Tailgate Experience rekindles so many fond memories, we just had to look back at the third season – and tempt you to get on board for season 4 of this membership-only experience.
In its young history, Levi’s® Stadium has played host to a long list of celebrities during football season – Beyonce, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga,  just to name a few -and has served as the home of the San Francisco 49ers since 2014.  But the stadium and the stands aren’t the only places you can find celebrities: A look inside Michael Mina’s kitchen during football season was an up-close and personal experience of celebrity and super-star chefs.  The Michael Mina Tailgate Experience at Levi’s® Stadium rekindles so many fond memories, we just had to look back at the third season  – and tempt you with every reason to get on board for season 4 of this membership-only experience.
First thing’s first: Walking up to Bourbon Steak and Bourbon Pub for Michael Mina’s Tailgate is an escapade on its own.  Just stepping into the area, you are engulfed with divine fragrances of food, surrounded by elaborate spreads and surprises on the blacktop, which include massive cheese fondue fountains and a decadent Bloody Mary bar. A game-themed menu with signature cocktail pairings, along with the regional cuisine of each guest chef is in store. And let’s face it, getting your hands on creations of uber chefs – outside of what they serve on a day-to-day basis at their own digs – is beyond cool.

Season 3 began on September 12, 2016, set with a star-studded lineup of guest chefs from around the country.  New Orleans’ own Emeril Lagasse of Emerils, Alon Shaya of Shaya restaurant, Matt Accarrino of SPQR and David Kinch of three Michelin-starred restaurant Manresa were on the lineup, and the list goes on.

It was all Bay Area on the October 6th game day (against the Arizona Cardinals).  Local flavor was on point when chefs took the theme, “THE MINA TEST KITCHEN: International Smoke Takeover”.  Adam Mesnick of Deli Board and Ryan Farr of 4505 Meats brought hot links and chicharróns down to the stadium to use on the brand new smoker, which launched at the game. Star chef, Ayesha Curry, joined in on the tailgate action with a combination of dishes from her new cookbook, The Seasoned Life (officially released in October, 2016), which included her Brown Sugar Chicken from her mother’s kitchen.

While all of this fabulous food and drink was happening, pre-game action was in full effect. Members were able to view pregame and game-time action on the 70 HDTVs throughout Bourbon Steak and Bourbon Pub, while watching decadent dishes prepared in the open kitchen and on the two-story rotisserie.

And just one more cool touch – At kickoff, Michael Mina’s Tailgate members depart with Treats for Your Seats, featuring gourmet treats and snacks to munch on during the game. Post-game, they were granted preferred reservations for dinner at Bourbon Pub & Bourbon Steak. In addition, a personalized concierge was available to provide preferred reservations for all MINA Group restaurants.

While the 2016-2017 season has come to a close for our San Francisco 49ers, fans and foodies alike still have reason to stay close to Levi’s Stadium:  Bourbon Steak and Borbon Pub are still in full swing (so worth the trip to Santa Clara in the off-season).   And before you know it, next football season will arrive, which means Season 4 of the Mina Tailgate experience is back on with more fabulous food and chefs.   Michael Mina Tailgate Experience at Levi’s® Stadium is a membership-only experience that only 49er season ticket holders have access into, and the annual membership is $3500, which includes all pre-season and regular season home games.  Football fan or not, we can attest that Michael Mina’s Tailgate is worth every penny.  To sum it up in two words: complete indulgence.
