This year’s theme, Ever Magical, explored the wonder that is at the heart of SF Ballet—enchanting classical story ballets like Cinderella©, Swan Lake, and Frankenstein. Artistic Director and Principal Choreographer, Helgi Tomasson, stayed true to his trailblazing style by seamlessly weaving modern pieces throughout the program.
The evening began when guests made their way into City Hall for the Cocktail Reception, followed by the Prosecco Promenade and seated dinner. After dinner, the sea of ballet enthusiasts made their way to the Gala performance at The War Memorial Opera House. Notables included Dede Wilsey, philanthropist and SF Ballet Vice Chair; George R Shultz, Former Director, United States Office of Management and Budget, and philanthropists OJ Shansby, Stephanie Marver, and Yurie Pascarella.
Inspired by the evening’s theme, fashionistas donned whimsical pieces that ranged from ethereal to the unconventional, and many accessorized with Tiffany & Co. and La Perla, sponsors of the event. With looks that were so ornate and colorful, upswept hair and minimal makeup were a common facade amongst the female crowd.
The evening concluded at City Hall once again for the celebratory After Party, bringing artists and audiences together in an evening that can only be described as pure magic.
