1 . Bright Complexion

What we are seeing for spring is a fresh bright complexion. Nothing overworked or heavy. Lots of hydrating primer and foundation or concealer only where needed to even the skin tone. The sensual skin fluid foundation is the perfect lightweight formula for spring complexion. The oil free formula with a lightweight serum texture and anti aging properties offers awesome perfect build able coverage for every skin type.

2.  Contouring

Contouring is still a major theme for spring and will continue to be into 2017. Kevyn Aucoin Beauty has just launched 2 new shades of contour extending our cult classic The Sculpting Powder to now have not only the original formula in Medium but we now offer a light and deep version so that every woman no matter their skin tone can be perfectly contoured using Kevyn Aucoin products.

3.  Highlighting

Highlighting is where we are seeing an exciting new turn in themes. Highlighting traditionally is a white, silver or gold sparkly shimmer on the tops of the cheeks. Spring 2016 showcases a more subtle aluminized effect, better known as strobing. Cosmetics companies on the whole are steering away from sparkles and shimmers and are introducing cream, liquid or gel highlighters that offer a natural etherial effect. An effortless lit from within glow is now the trend. Ultra fine light reflecting pigments offer a beautiful sheen. Kevyn Aucoin has launched The Gaurdian Angel Cream Highlighter in Halo and introduced The Celestial Skin Liquid Lighting in Starlight. These 2 new additions to the line create the look of glowing flawless skin on even the most dehydrated skin.

4.  Color Washing

Washes of color on the lip and eye are also a major theme. For spring we are seeing a new version of a dramatic eye introduced. The Cut crease eye is out with fall. Precisely lined lips, Lashes and liquid liner are saved for night. Spring eye themes are effortless and easy to achieve. Lots of mascara and a subtle liner alone the lower lash line defines the eye without looking heavy. All over bright washes of color from lash line to crease gives the eye a pop of excitement and allure. This can be an accessorizing complementary color found in a new spring dress, clutch or shoe. Matching shadow to outfit has been a long standing no-no in the makeup world. Spring 2016 color stories showcase ways to incorporate themed colors in a non aggressive way. I love seeing a woman wear the same family of color story on her eyes, cheek and lips in a modern and fun way. The key is not looking for an exact match but referencing the undertone and textures of materials and fabrics.
