Home Beauty News 3 Fabulous Beauty Trends from Oscar Night

Forget the dresses. The real stars of Oscar® night were celebrity hair and makeup.  These three red-carpet trends are making a statement well beyond awards season.

Bejeweled Statements from Tiffany & Co.

It wouldn’t be an awards ceremony without glittery baubles from Tiffany & Co.  Academy Award® nominees Reese Witherspoon and Emma Stone and presenter Cate Blanchett captured the magic of Oscar® night in jewels from the 2015 Tiffany Blue Book collection, The Art of the Sea. For Ms. Blanchett, an intricate turquoise, aquamarine and diamond necklace was the statement piece to compliment her all-black gown, while Ms. Witherspoon added to her classic look with diamond earrings, a bracelet and a Fancy Intense Blue diamond ring.  Tiffany & Co.’s stunning diamond cuff in 18k yellow and white gold was the only piece needed to accessorize Ms. Stone’s intricate look.

Vampy Lips

Gone are the days of the goth vampy lip; the strong, dark lip is here to stay.  This is a powerful statement that we saw on the red carpet throughout every season.  Supermodel Chrissy Teigen and Selma star Carmen Ejogo nailed the look by pairing the dramatic dark lip against their light-colored gowns. Strong brows are a must to off-set the strong lip.

The Ponytail…Elevated!

The ponytail is making a comeback!  The look that was once reserved for casual outings has been elevated to new heights, literally. A slight bump in the back can bring a new elegance to a once casual look.  Whether the look is super slick, easy-breazy, or elevated, the ponytail was totally in for Oscar night and beyond.
