Home About town Pat Areias and Luxetigers Host Holiday Fundraiser to Benefit Lava Mae

The Pat Areias Boutique may be a newcomer to San Francisco, but they’re already making a name on Maiden Lane with their popular silver boutique. They recently partnered with Luxtigers to host a benefit cocktail event for Lava Mae.

With just a few days to go before Christmas, a group of influential editors, clients, and socialites gathered at San Francisco’s Pat Areias Boutique on Maiden Lane for a holiday launch party benefiting Lava Mae, Mobile Showers for the Homeless. Inspired by Lava Mae‘s upcoming April 2015 fundraiser, Denise Paulson recruited the Luxetigers team to help spread the word and raise funds and awareness for the charity. Luckily for us, we found a kindred spirit in silver accessories designer Pat Areias, who generously offered to host the launch party at her newly opened San Francisco boutique.

Guests enjoyed Prosecco, fine wines from the Napa Valley and small bites while perusing the extensive Pat Areias Sterling Silver Collection, which has been steadily growing for the last 25 years. From their home base in Carmel, California, Areias has become famous for her sterling silver buckles and accessories that practically fly off the shelves at her New York and Carmel boutiques and are coveted by collectors worldwide. Informed by many years spent living in Mexico, the Pat Areias look is distinctive, sleek, and modern. The collection is also peppered with Western references inspired by the designer’s love of horses and equestrian culture.

The intimate event drew civic-minded San Francisco locals, as well as Bay Area residents, who are all too familiar with the plight of the homeless community in this city. At the launch party, guests spoke with Lava Mae founder Doniece Sandoval and event co-chair Denise Paulson and learned how to get involved and contribute to the work of this valuable organization. Amazingly, San Francisco has about 3,500 people living on the streets yet there are only about 20 shower stalls in the entire city where homeless people can shower. Lava Mae‘s mission is to change that—one mobile shower bus at a time. During the short promotion of this event, we were fortunate enough to have our friends at the The Fairmont Hotel  pledge a donation of towels to Lava Mae and for this kind gesture, we are deeply grateful to Barbara and Thomas Klein. This intimate event proved to be a wonderful way to share the Christmas spirit with friends and the community. Luxetigers thanks you all for your support and wishes you a very Happy New Year!
