In a matter of two short years, the FOG Art and Design Preview Gala has become the event for A-listers to emerge at the start of the year to strut their stuff amidst the backdrop of Modern Art and Design. And why wouldn’t it be? The Preview Gala – with an honorary committee that includes a blitz of A-listers like Diane Wilsey, Sabrina Buell, Yves Béhar and Randi and Bob Fisher to name a few – offers patrons a special preview of exhibits and an exclusive buying opportunity prior to the public opening of the fair.
Leaders of the design industry – some from across the country – exhibited at the 5-day event, which took place from January 14-18. The Twiga Gallery and Hedge and from San Francisco, Pace from New York City and Reform Gallery in Los Angeles were among the list that participated in the design extravaganza that was steered by committee members Allison Speer, Cathy Topham, SFMOMA board member Katie Paige and famed designers Douglas Durkin and Stanlee Gatti.
SFMOMA patrons and supporters, VIP guests, and top‐level sponsors had the opportunity to peruse modern and contemporary design while enjoying an evening of entertainment, culinary creations and delectable signature cocktails at the Fort Mason Pavillion. Proceeds from the FOG Preview Gala and fair will support SFMOMA’s California‐wide exhibitions and education programs providing meaningful art experiences to more than 60,000 students, teachers, and families each year.
