A new luxury fashion house has made its way to San Francisco! Following a successful debut at New York Fashion Week, House of Borel marked its Bay Area debut with a launch party at Terra Gallery on March 5.
Hosted by House of Borel, this was a fabulous and interactive launch event. Guests walked a grand red carpet before entering the gallery filled with House of Borel handbags, both draped on mannequins and encased in museum glass. Gourmet cuisine and cocktails were flowing as guests mingled and adored each handbag as if they were actual museum pieces. On the big screen was a virtual display of New York Fashion Week, and guests were treated to a post-runway peek at showpieces that that were featured in Michael Costello’s Fall 2015 Collection.
The Project Runway designer was in attendance, as was Joy Bianchi, Lora DuBain, Leigh Frazier, Aubrey Brewster and Charleston Pierce.
Created by Claire Borel in 2014, House of Borel features a lineup that includes large ostrich handbags, delicate anaconda clutches, crocodile mini purses – many of which feature palladium or rose gold hardware – and much more. Borel designed these pieces with the modern woman in mind: they cross the elegant intersection of style and functionality, while focusing on high quality. The accessories’ signature statement is turquoise, which appears in the lining of several handbags. Borel describes her line as “understatedly elegant.”
