The Drever Family estate was abuzz with myth and mystery for the annual Hotbed Benefit on August 22. Co-hosted by Joe Jonas and Sharon Stone, the event was a major success for 10,000 Degrees, the Marin-based organization that supports disadvantaged students with access to higher education.
This year, the Drever Family’s nine-acre estate was transformed into an enchanted garden for the occasion. Sharon Stone, celebrity auctioneer, stunned the crowd as she soared down the red carpet donning an etherial dress outfitted with wings. Over 250 guests made their way through enchanted forest before arriving on the grounds. Through the course of the evening, a lively crowd mingled in the Enchanted Garden while bidding on silent auction items and exploring the contemporary art gallery featuring an array of artists.
After the sun set, guests made their way to the bottom of the property where they were seated under the tent for the start of the auction. Co-hosts Sharon Stone and Joe Jonas joined onstage before Sharon Stone began the auction, selling lavish packages including trips to Hawaii, Rome, Costa Rica and more. Her bold attitude was both highly entertaining and infectious, as she invited bidders at the $1,000 – level onstage for the of the Fund-A-Need Scholarship Auction. The fund-a-need ended with Chad Carvey, followed by an exciting fashion show of a custom Enchanted Garden themed collection by T. Rains.
The evening concluded with the official after party, with DJ Joe Jonas and performances by artist Victoria Noyes and band KANEHOLLER. The event was a major success for 10,000 Degrees; this year Hotbed raised more than double last year’s that amount.
