Art and design enthusiasts, mark your calendars for the second annual FOG Design+Art Fair from January 14 – 18. The four-day celebration will feature modern and contemporary design, architecture, and art with dynamic exhibits, custom installations, art galleries, lectures, and discussions with leaders in the art and design worlds.
Festivities begin with a special Preview Gala on January 14, benefiting the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). The Preview Gala offers patrons a special preview of exhibits and an exclusive buying opportunity prior to the public opening of the fair. Leaders in the design industry, SFMOMA patrons and supporters, VIP guests, and top-level sponsors will enjoy an evening of entertainment, culinary creations by McCalls, and delectable signature cocktails featuring spirits by in-kind partner Campari America. Tickets start at $150 and will be available at fogfair.com. Proceeds from the FOG Preview Gala and fair will support SFMOMA’s California-wide exhibitions and education programs providing meaningful art experiences to more than 60,000 students, teachers, and families each year.
The Preview Gala will be followed by the public opening January 15 through 18, 2015 at the Fort Mason Center Festival Pavilion. Sponsored by Citi, FOG Design+Art will feature dozens of prominent 20th-century and contemporary art and design dealers from the Bay Area and beyond along with the return of Stanlee Gatti’s unique installation 21POP, and a lineup of lectures and interactive discussions with leaders in the design and art worlds.
FOG Design+Art will also showcase San Francisco’s world-famous cuisine. New this year, award-winning chefs Michael and Lindsay Tusk, owners of Cotogna and Quince, will create a sit-down restaurant specially conceived for the fair. In addition, the FOG Café will return with house-made baked goods, organic salads, soups, and tasty sandwiches by Jane on Fillmore.
Honorary Co-Chairs include Roselyne Chroman Swig and Susan Swig. The Steering Committee includes Douglas Durkin, Stanlee Gatti, Katie Paige, Allison Speer, and Cathy Topham. FOG Design+Art is produced by White Rain Productions, a San Francisco–based event company with over 30 years of experience producing large-scale events and fairs.
