Convert, a Hayes Valley clothing boutique that has long enjoyed a reputation for carrying sustainably-sourced, fashion-forward men’s pieces has now expanded its collection to include women’s apparel. The owners invited SF’s BRAVO! Club, aka- Young Professionals in Support of the Opera, to preview their new women’s collection and to get a sneak peak of Convert must haves for the upcoming Spring season.
It was an evening of sustainable fashion, fun and friends at Convert in Hayes Valley as the store unveiled its new women’s collection with an exclusive look at their top spring fashion picks. Owners Randy Brewer and Fred Whitefield mingled with guests, including SF’s BRAVO! Club members, who browsed the men’s collection and the newly added women’s Spring line, while sipping on cocktails from Oakland Spirits Company and snacking on delicious bites from Straw Carnival Fare.
Known for carrying domestically produced pieces and working largely with eco-conscious vendors, Convert has long been carrying men’s fashion essentials at their Hayes Valley and Berkeley locations. With a motto of, ‘Quality apparel for people who care as much about Style they care about the Earth’, the recent addition of women’s clothing is cause for any environmentally-friendly fashionista to celebrate because the owners have once again combined their passion for refined street style and all things ‘green’ to offer sustainably sourced, high quality pieces for their female customers. And the owners take their commitment to American-made, sustainable clothing very seriously.
‘The thought process behind Convert is all about giving men and women great fashion options from brands that are already sustainably produced, brands which have eco-options within their collections, or companies willing to make a change in the way they do business’ says co-owner and buyer Randy Brewer.
‘The woman who shops here is a style conscious woman with excellent casual taste who favors high quality items and who cares about where her clothes come from.’
Indeed she is. The store offers a selection of apparel that focuses on refined luxury while keeping fashion accessible and fun. The emphasis on quality and versatility is impressive. From their featured Spring essentials like fitted tees, printed scarves and color-blocked messenger bags to their absolutely massive selection of denim in the most current trends, Convert is a one-stop-shop for fashionable Bay Area men and women who care about the environment.
