It is a rare sighting indeed when one of the world’s most famous fashion designers, behind ensembles of First Ladies Jacqueline Onassis, Laura Bush, Michelle Obama, and Melania Trump, makes a personal daytime appearance at Neiman Marcus. In fact, Carolina Herrera was last at Neiman Marcus Union Square in San Francisco six years ago.
On March 29th, Neiman Marcus Union Square was delighted to welcome Mrs. Herrera once again for a private event with a fashion show that consisted of 39 looks on the Couture floor and featured the Carolina Herrera Fall 2017 collection. Following the runway show, customers shopped the trunk show that featured the entire collection. The event saluted the San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary, San Francisco Opera Guild, and San Francisco Symphony for their dedication in bringing arts programs to children throughout the Bay Area.
The collection featured a number of plays on the structured shirtdress, with accents that included handkerchief-knots and rounded, full sleeves. Most models were fitted with heavy-heeled loafers or lace-up dance flats to compliment the structured ensembles.
Carolina Herrera has celebrated three and a half decades in fashion this past year. Since its launch in 1981, the Carolina Herrera New York brand has been carried at Neiman Marcus. In honor of Carolina Herrera’s longstanding legacy, Neiman Marcus Group CEO, Karen Katz honored the designer with The Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion this past September in Dallas, Texas.
