A glitzy evening of fiery fashion was in store when guests arrived at the Westfield Center for Bespoke in Red, a benefit for the American Red Cross of the Bay Area presented by Jake. The October 1 event was a launch party and fashion experience to celebrate the upcoming Red Cross Gala scheduled for April 2016.
One by one, guests donning their fashionably formal attire sashayed the red carpet to be greeted by a mannequin display of Jake fashion creations. Guests mingled, sipped and savored creative libations from Jason Gold’s new restaurant, Oro, and a bevy of small bites from DOSA. Event sponsor Celebrity Cruises had a special lounge and Celebrity cocktail set up for attendees.
As guests took their seats, the crowd was greeted by Jake co-founder, Jake Wall, and Bay Area American Red Cross Gala Chair, Lilian Phan. The Jake fashion line, founded in 2012 by Wall [a 2015 Project Runway Contestant] and business partner Nathan Johnson, is a limited edition capsule ready-to-wear line that focuses on definition and depth. The evening marked the world premiere of the brand’s original fashion film before an exclusive showing of the Jake Fall/Winter Blvd collection.
Both male and female models walked the fashion show, but the evening’s standouts were the sparkling women’s fashions, which included the menswear-meets-womanswear tuxedos along with flowing red creations that were remixed and remastered into pantsuits. The evening was topped off with a raffle, followed by more music and mingling.
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.
